Nicollette Sheridan is a British born American actress who is of Indian Punjabi descent through her maternal side. She is the daughter of British actress Sally Sheridan and is in no way related to actress Dinah Sheridan. She has a half brother named Nick Savalas. Although the details of her biological father are not known, she considers late actor Telly Savalas, who was her mother’s ex-boyfriend, to be her father. It was Savalas, who encouraged her to be proud of her Greek descent. She is a fluent speaker of the Greek language and also learnt horse riding at the age of three. She went to school in Somerset before moving to USA in 1973. She lived with teen-idol Leif Garrett in his mother’s house when she was only 15 years old. The relationship lasted six years. She married actor Harry Hamlin in September 1991 and divorced him two years later in 1993. Since then she has been in and out of relationships with Swedish personal trainer, Nicklas Söderblom and singer and actor Michael Bolton. Currently she is single and is concentrating on her professional career.
Nicollette started acting in 1984, when she got minor roles in various television series. Since then, she has acted in 27 television shows and 11 movies. On television, she has appeared on shows like Paper Dolls, Lucky Chances, Knots Landing, Virus, Murder in My Mind, The Legend of Tarzan, Haven’t We Met Before and Deadly Visions etc. Currently she plays the role of Edie Williams on Desperate Housewives. She has also acted in the movies, Noises Off, Beverly Hills Ninja, Raw Nerve, Lost Treasure, Code Name: The Cleaner and Noah’s Ark: The New Beginning etc., with the last one currently under post production. She has also appeared as herself on shows like NFL Monday Night Football, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Live with Regis and Kathy Lee, Corazon de and Ellen: The Ellen DeGeneres Show etc. Her nude sketch on the opening of one of Monday Night Football games gave rise to much controversy in November 2004. Nicollette has been nominated for five different awards including one Golden Globe award and she has also won four other awards.
Role In Desperate Housewives
In Desperate Housewives, she plays the role of Edie Williams. She is a realtor and has been in and out of relationships with almost all the male partners of the leading cast. However, her main relationships have been with Susan Mayer’s ex-husbands Karl and Mike and Gabrielle Solis’ husband Carlos. Due to her habit of always being on the lookout for a male partner, she is infamous in the neighborhood as a man-hungry female. In the fifth season, she comes back to the neighborhood with a new husband named Dave Williams who has a shadowy character and hides his ulterior motives behind a friendly and smiling face.
