Marcia Cross is the extremely beautiful and talented daughter of Janet and Mark Cross. Her father was a personnel manager while her mother was a teacher. She has an elder sister named Susan and a younger sister named Ellen who is a singer and a songwriter. She attended the Juilliard School in New York and continued her higher education at LA's Antioch University from where she graduated with a Masters degree in psychology. She ranked at the 91st on the People Magazine's List of The 100 Most Beautiful People in the World in 2006. In early 2005, it was widely rumored that Marcia was lesbian and she appeared on a talk show to deny the reports. She lost her long-time companion, Richard Jordan, to brain tumor in August 1993. After that she did not date anyone seriously till she married stock broker Tom Mahoney in June 2006. Marcia gave birth to her twin daughters named Eden and Savannah on 20th February, 2007. During the last four months of her pregnancy, Marcia was placed on precautionary bed rest and since she did not want to stop work, she bought the entire cast and crew of her current series, to her home and even redecorated her bedroom to like the character’s bedroom. On 20th January 2009, Marcia’s representative announced that Tom has been diagnosed with cancer.
Marcia has been acknowledged as the person who fits the adage of beauty with brains. She has worked mostly for television and has appeared in about 42 shows besides working in 9 movies. Her prominent shows on television include Brass, One Life to Live, Cheers, Doctor Doctor, Jake and the Fatman, Knots Landing, Raven, Melrose Place, Boy Meets World, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Everwood etc. Currently she can be seen playing the role of Bree Hodge in Desperate Housewives. Role In Desperate Housewives
In Desperate Housewives, she plays the role of Bree Hodge, one of the four main characters of the series. She was earlier married to Rex Van de Kamp. After Rex died at the end of the first season, Bree had an affair with George but on finding out that he murdered Rex, she broke up with him and later married Orson Hodge at the start of the third season. Bree has two children from Rex named Andrew and Danielle, both of whom resent her.
